Hello! My name is Negar, and I am the founder and Registered Midwife behind Solé Midwifery (pronounced so-LAY)—a practice rooted in compassion, cultural humility, and a deep respect for the transformative nature of birth and parenthood.
My passion for midwifery was sparked in my childhood in Iran, where I watched my mother—also a midwife—care for families in communities with strength, wisdom, and heart. Her dedication inspired me to follow in her footsteps and devote my life to supporting others through pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
After immigrating to Canada in 2013, I pursued further education and proudly graduated in 2024 with top honors and two awards recognizing academic and clinical excellence. The path to midwifery has been deeply personal—marked by resilience, adaptation, and healing following a life-altering injury in 2018. These experiences have shaped not only who I am but how I practice: with empathy, attentiveness, and a deep belief in the power of informed choice.
At Solé Midwifery, I provide individualized, respectful, and culturally safe care for every family. I am especially passionate about supporting newcomers and immigrant families as they navigate pregnancy and childbirth in a new country. I offer care in both English and Farsi, creating space where families can feel seen, heard, and safe.
Outside of midwifery, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones and honoring the memory of my loyal German Shepherd, Scott, who brought comfort and joy to my life for many years.

We are committed to building trusted relationships through continuity of care — walking alongside you from early pregnancy through labor, birth, and the postpartum period. Our team prioritizes open communication, informed choice, and compassionate presence, empowering you to make the decisions that are right for your body, your baby, and your family.
As registered midwives in British Columbia, we are proud to offer publicly funded care through the Medical Services Plan (MSP), making high-quality maternity services accessible at no cost to all B.C. residents. Whether you choose to give birth at home or in hospital, our goal is to ensure that you feel safe, supported, and deeply respected every step of the way.
